Medium: Wood and plastic scale model of the Rebel Yell roller coaster at Kings Dominion, an amusement park located near Richmond, Virginia. The piece is accompanied by a sound track from the Smithsonian archives of Confederate veterans giving their battle cry, the rebel yell.

Description: We went for fun, my brown skinned teenage friends and I. We were encouraged to scream as loud as we could. We did not know the ride was named for the battle cry of those who fought to preserve the institution of slavery.
